In another interview, Sushmita recalled how she participated in a beauty pageant. She said that she withdrew her name because Aishwarya was very beautiful and was already famous. If you think she is the most beautiful person in the world, then get away from her. What does it mean to lose to someone else? Give it your best shot."

She revealed that it was Aishwarya who won all the prelims, which was the reason why she was sure that she was going to lose the competition. Moreover, when Ash's name was announced as the first runner-up, Sushmita started crying thinking that she had not even made it to the runner-up. But when his name was announced as the winner, he could not believe himself.

During the final segment of the contest, Aishwarya was asked, "If you were to look for qualities in a husband, would you look for qualities in Ridge Forester from 'The Bold and Beautiful' or in Mason Capwell from 'Santa Barbara' ?
